What do I need to provide?
A Xero login that can approve the read-only connection, and someone who knows the books, usually your accountant. No exports or spreadsheets.
Does it replace Xero or my accountant?
No. Xero stays the record of your books and Clarity only reads from it. Your accountant sees the same dashboard you do, which makes the monthly conversation easier.
Do I need to use Finvoke as my accountant?
No. Finvoke offers Clarity to its clients, but it works with any accountant.
How current is the dashboard?
It refreshes once your books close for the month. The dashboard shows when it last refreshed, and the current and previous month are held back until the books are confirmed closed.
What if a refresh fails?
Your Xero connection page shows what happened, in Xero’s own words, and what to do. Usually that is pressing Reconnect.
Do I have to use the AI part?
No. The dashboard is complete on its own. Connecting your own Claude account is optional, and you can disconnect it whenever you like. It works on Claude’s free plan, which allows one connector of this kind; paid plans allow more.
Does it work with accounting systems other than Xero?
Clarity is built for Xero. Get in touch if you use something else.
